In 2005, Janes was named "Emerging Artist and Trendsetter," by Art Business News, the largest trade publication in the U.S. Janes has created a number of original designs, which have been used to help support various nonprofit organizations that promote animal welfare. Among these projects, Janes has designed the first official ribbon for animals, the "Animal Guardian Ribbon," which is being distributed by Rational Animal to help support animal shelters nationwide. "I want people to look at my art and get an emotional reaction- most people have had an animal that was close to them in their life.
